The sad truth is if you're having to struggle and think this hard to keep her interested in the conversation, she's not into you. Something I have to remind myself whenever I realize I'm having to "try hard" to get a girl to respond.

If she's into you, she will be just as determined to impress you, and therefore the conversation will flow effortlessly, as you will both have a lot of things you want to say to each other. So it wont be you saying all the interesting stuff while she's just all like "lol" "yeah" "haha" "" etc.
