For me, Who is on a slow slide. There were some bangers in the Capaldi era and I didn't hate Clara, but I feel the moment the showrunners realized how popular she was, they went way too hard hyping her up.

Last season was okay at best. I have no problem with the cast, but they just seem to not know what to do with them. Graham is the only one to get any real depth to his character.

This season, hoo boy. I hope I'm not treading on too many toes when I say that Orphan 55 was probably the worst episode of Who I've seen in a fair bit. Poor effects, broken continuity, all over the place writing-wise, and a glurgy moral wrap-up.

And I can't be the only one who noticed historical fun-times being played fast and loose:

Spyfall: Sorry Ada Lovelace and Noor Inayat Khan. Gotta wipe your memories so you don't know about time travel and aliens.

Tesla: Tesla and Edison know about aliens and time travel? Eh, whatever.

And yes, I'm quite aware Who never really cares about this much anyway, but it leapt out to me probably because I watched the last few eps in quick succession.

Hey, but take heart, they've brought back Captain Jack Harkness as of last episode. Although he pretty much gets warped away ten minutes after he shows up. Of course, they're setting up a late season reunion with him and the Doctor, but I wonder if he even fits with the show's tone anymore.
