They've made plenty of retro games that sell okay but don't justify a bigger push, and MM collections continue to be a cheap source of additional revenue. Even another Legends game probably wouldn't realistically sell that well, but it would at least turn a profit. It's clearly still popular among old fans, but as a franchise it needs to grow. They need something new that somehow doesn't piss off fans. The Mega Man version of what Symphony of the Night did for Castlevania.
