Topic | Your life without college education |
Zanzenburger 01/20/20 9:23:04 AM #30: | This argument is flawed from both sides. You don't need a college degree to be successful and you but you also won't necessarily be more successful without a college degree. The fact is, statistically speaking, that you will make more money (a lot more money) in you lifetime with a college degree than without. This is largely due to the promotion cap you would experience without a degree. More management jobs require a degree than not, so even if you find a decent paying job without a degree, at some point you are likely to hit a ceiling in management until you get at least a Bachelor's. The problem is that people attribute this fact as a blanket fact that college = more money and uninformed college students use college as a "win" button. Then they become distressed when their college degree alone did not get them a good job. College is just a tool to help you reach your career goals. Just like trade school can be, or a certificate program, or even a mentor helping you start a business. Even as a college administrator I am careful telling students that college is their best choice. For many, it isn't. --- Congratulations! Your post was deemed response-worthy. ...
