our chances of changing a stranger's mind(especially on the internet) is slim to none because most people are married to their beliefs and are only interested in changing your mind instead. Even if it's just some type of emotional crutch for them to believe in nonsensical shit. Some cultures have survived on delusions of grandeur and blind faith alone, lol.

People being enlightened after being stuck in darkness is a noteworthy story because it's so rare in cases like this, but anecdotal evidence doesn't speak for the majority of interactions.

The evidence does not back this

Again look at Daryl Davies who has talked out over 200 klansmen while barely trying

You're saying "Anecdotal evidence doesn't count " while providing no evidence of your own

the oppressed shouldn't have to educate those who dehumanize them

And nobody should have to live on the street or starve. Nobody should have to lock their front door.

It's not about whether or not you should. Its about good ideas vs bad ideas. If you want to oppose prejudice and help people, the most effective way Is to talk to people and change their minds.

Violence and screaming and deplatforming only empowers them and makes their cause feel stronger to them

History disagrees with that assertion

The United Methodist Church, one of the largest mainline Protestant churches in the US, is literally about to split over the gay marriage issue. I wouldnt say its exactly settled.

Good thing I didn't say "settled " then

I said flipped from mostly against to mostly for. And guess what, nearly all those against wont look at , talk to or humanize gay couples

Concepts and symbols are easy to be taught to hate, people are a lot harder
