| argonautweakend 01/02/20 2:04:40 PM #106: | A lot of people find themselves in prison because they couldnt afford a real lawyer, and their court appointed lawyer has too much on their plate to provide a well planned, thought out, and executed defense, so a lot of people take plea deals because its less time, not because they necessarily did it and want to minimize their time. If you had the choice between 5 years for admitting to it(plea deal) or mount a shoddy trial via public defense where if you win you are free but if you fail you get 30+ years.... Thats the reason I am wary of various things because you need to look at it from the perspective some people are in the position they are in through no real fault of their own. ...
