I would try a different dog food to see if that alleviates their behavior. A few times per calendar year is normal, but constantly engaging in coprophagia is a sign that a visit to the vet may be needed to determine the cause, but it may just be a habit at this point and you just need to keep the dog on a leash to stop them when they try to eat poop. --- Hmm... ...
