Given that I don't pay attention to hockey and could therefore define my "favourite" team as the one that requires the least travel, this would probably be doable without having to take the full time off work. That said, if flights being cancelled costs me the prize, I don't think it'd be a worthwhile gamble. Flying in Canada in the winter is risky business. Flights get cancelled all the time, and with only a day or two to spare between some games, that could very easily be the end of it.

If flight cancellations (and other such uncontrollable travel interruptions) don't count against me, then I'd do it, otherwise, not so much.
