I think their approach has been to lay off the pushes with the Elite for now so people don't resent them for pushing all the VPs immediately. This. If Omega and the Bucks were getting the pushes that their skill levels deserve, then people would be hating on AEW for the Elite just pushing themselves and not building new stars. Hangman hasn't been doing much after that first match with Jericho either, and Cody even purposely added that "if I lose, I'll never challenge for the AEW world title again" stipulation to his match with Jericho specifically to dispel the "we're just pushing ourselves" motive from people's minds. Give the company time to develop. Like, at least a year. Let them build up new guys.
