This whole fiasco happened because Rian didn't want to give fans what they want.
no, it's because rian wanted to do something new in the SW universe rather than rinse and repeat a la JJ

he said he didn't want do appease fans because star wars fans are never happy regardless. which is turning out to be correct since we're all destroying ourselves

I know they get a lot of flack for legitimate reasons, but frankly they're so popular now that the meme about them giving every game an 8/10 or above is created by fanboy gamers who don't want to hear a single bad word said about their game.
which kinda sucks because it makes creators become a lot more conservative since they don't want to upset their hardcore fanbase

That said, I will always really liked how TLJ attempted to do things differently, how it wasn't just a tired ANH retread with zillions of mystery boxes for fans to chew over.
agreed, and it's pathetic that there's been such a huge backlash of establishing a new direction for the new sequels

most of the people who trashed on TLJ seem equally averse to the shitty leaks. There isnt a binary choice between Anti-climax: the movie and fanboy handhob. >_>
i did read a comment somewhere is that RoS managed to do what TFA and TLJ failed to do

bring the fanbase together on how disappointed they were with the ending of the sequel trilogy
