Those publications are singularly incapable of producing a negative review without the entire gaming community losing their minds over it. And obviously that will affect their bottom line, so they have to pander. I know they get a lot of flack for legitimate reasons, but frankly they're so popular now that the meme about them giving every game an 8/10 or above is created by fanboy gamers who don't want to hear a single bad word said about their game.
