You're either moving through the levels at a snails' pace or you're going out of your way to avoid conflict. It's rare that people are able to brute force solo legendary. Even people who can go through the campaign "quickly" still do lots of hiding. It has less to do with skill and more to do with the fact that your shields and health can't hold up against the ridiculous amount of firepower thrown your way. I'd say Heroic is the best difficulty simply because you don't need to tip toe through the campaign. --- Yes, it is against the terms of service.
