Phil's brand is his personality, and when you're an internet laughingstock known for masturbating on camera, e-begging, and being extremely toxic to everyone around you, that's not a good thing.
Phil has no personality.

People tend to flock to others they have something in common with. Whether that be sharing a fandom or something similar, they always do.

It's impossible to find something in common with Phil, even his struggles, because they are based in lies.

You can't have a conversation about any fandom, because he will just say "who the fuck cares, X isn't so real. So there you go."

It's also impossible to sympathize with his gaming struggles. See, when I see someone else playing Dark Souls for example, and they come up a challenge I had trouble with, I tend to root for them. Seeing people pick themselves up, improve, learn from their mistakes and adapt is how that sympathy grows. Phil on the other hand just shits all over the game, the devs and the fucking alignment of the moon. He shows no growth nor does he make any effort to do better next time.

It's also impossible to learn from Phil, some streamers are really good at this, explaining mechanics, and their thought process behind choices they make in certain situations, which in turn can make you a better player. But not with Phil, the game just sucks, the sun was in his eyes, his controller is busted, but as long as he doesn't have to make an effort.

It's also impossible to sympathize with his personal struggles. I can empathize with someone being poor, I know what that shit is like. Phil cries poor, that he doesn't have money for anything, but buys new games all the fucking time and doesn't have 1, but 2 houses to his name. I believe what Phil means is that he doesn't have as much spending money as he wants. If you then look at how he views his personal relationships, it becomes more and more impossible. He sees his parents as an untapped well for finances, his audience as an ATM. He has destroyed every personal relationship he has ever had (over money), lied to his fans about getting married, about having a pet. Never learns from his past, will beg for money for taxes like a clockwork.

He never has made any personal growth, he is doing the exact same thing as he did 10 years ago on Youtube. I'd even make a case that he has devolved. Streaming has made him more lazy. He is being handheld through everything, even through brand new games where he wants to promote his "raw real" gameplay. Yet the simplest of challenges, are a monumental obstacle. Any creative thinking, attempting different strategies, learning from the situation, or trying a different approach all together is alien to him. Again, making it hard to empathize with him, because he doesn't react like a normal human would.

He has no personality to speak of.
