No way in hell will people support UBI while they hate the idea of food stamps and unemployment checks.

You gotta work your way to the destination instead of thinking you can just teleport to UBI from when we are now.

The concept of ubi is to do this exact thing. Whether you want to admit it or not, people CANT just do better. People go to school to get loans that cant be discharged via bankruptcy because jobs wont look at you without one. Jobs then pay barely a livable wage for positions that need degrees. Ability to move up or promotions are stagnant because those positions arent even open. People in those positions wont leave because they cannot retire. People cant start businesses or work on developing their careers because they dont have the additional income.

So many people can do good by just having a tiny buffer like UBI. It doesnt reward you for failing like social programs. It kick starts those limited by life. Something simply forgiving loans or raising the min wage wont do. And from the videos Ive watched, it seems like UBI has worked more effectively in other areas. Hence why I think its statistically better.

Whenever he gets a chance to even mention other things, I tend to agree with him. But my main concern is the economy. Im forced to be depressed at a shit job when I could work a mentally more positive job if I had a $1000 buffer. I can then have more time to write and try to get into real estate which is what I want.

Its not impossible now, obviously, but Im not in as bad a position as others too.

Im not knowledgeable. But I feel people losing jobs is and should be a front line issue. What else is important that he has a poor opinion about?

Because we cannot fund it just sounds like no one trying to give a solution.
