The first time somebody abuses you you need to get the fuck on and report them to the police. It really sucks that happened to her. It isn't that easy, unfortunately. Why not? Leaving abusive relationships is tricky, and victims are often in more danger once they've left because the kind of controlling assholes that resort to domestic abuse snap when they realize someone isn't taking their shit anymore. If you fear for your life, involve others and the police.
