It is pretty much this. Except in a better more physical way. Everything in the world that the King of the Pirates finds is One Piece. Because wherever the King of the Pirates goes, everything and everyone belongs to him, just based on how he acts. Which is why Luffy is already the King of the Pirates.

It's based on what Gold Rogers says in every episode. "I left everything I own in one piece." Because everywhere he goes everything is his. And he just leaves it alone, in one piece without messing with it.


Sorry to burst your bubble but that is certainly a translation mistake. He actually said "in that place".
