And the story is a tremendous step down from Gen 7, which actually gave a fuck again after the lack of fucks in Gen 6. It feels like a lot of people don't seem to care much about the story in the mainline Pokemon games. It's starting to become like the Mario platformers in that regard - you don't play Mario for the story (what little it has), it's all about the gameplay for Mario platformers.
