You cant wait until the 8th episode in a saga to try to change things up and be different when its not your universe to do that in. I can see if it was a spin off movie. From force flying Leia Poppins to the hyperspace ram, to the random PETA lesson in the casino, a lot of it felt out of place. Especially since TFA set up so much. It made StarWars feel like a basic Netflix movie instead of an actual Star Wars episode.
