I don't know the full context, but I'd imagine the guy calling the other guy that word wasn't "right" either. But it's about comparing things rather than saying one is good and one is bad. Sure frontier justice is fun 'bad guys getting their comeuppance" is nice to watch, but in real life bad and good is very rarely simple.
