I mean, if you don't love your parents, sure.

I love mine but doesnt make their choice to have me and also be financially irresponsible now MY problem

One could argue that you taking care of them being seen as a problem in of itself illustrates your lack of love for your parents.

Not being able to live comfortably into your old age doesn't always equate to financial irresponsibility. We're social creatures that thrive from having access to varying networks that care about us in varying degrees. One's family should, ideally, be one of the most nurturing, sympathetic, and affectionate networks one has. I would personally expect the attitude you're displaying to be reflected from someone who did not grow up in a good house hold with nurturing parents. If they gave you what you needed to not only survive, but thrive, then honestly you're an asshole to want to have nothing to do with them in their last stage of their lives.

But you're totally correct. You're not lawfully required to take care of your parents at all. You don't even need to feel obligated to ever speak to them ever again if you truly don't want to. Whether or not you should is completely up to the individual and what they experienced.
