Thankfully Bernie said he opposes open borders and I would hope he opposes this too. Can have a welfare state or open borders. Not both. Yeah, if you have a welfare state, you'd need to be able to accurately tell what your expected future expenditures are and need to balance cultivating resource pools with the resource drains. Letting anyone come here and then letting them join the drain side doesn't work out. You can have open borders in the sense that anyone is allowed to come visit, but not in the anyone is allowed to be considered living here. Instead of trying to jump straight to their perceived end-point, I feel that people on the left should attempt to harness the capitalistic system to bring about an environmentally friendly society with near zero production costs. --- I want a pet Lavos Spawn.
