(I'd be less salty about it if the accident itself was less ridiculous - I hit someone from behind and totalled my own car, while they got away with a scuffed bumper.)

I got one better. I turned left on my green left turn light. I was hit by another car. I was at fault automatically for "making an unsafe turn" because I assumed that hey, I have the green light, I have right of way. My insurance was ridiculous after that and no lawyer wanted to defend me on this. Then I remembered something a DMV examiner told me - right of way is only a recommendation in California, not a law.

I've been in 4 accidents; 3 while I was driving, 1 "at fault".
