Michaels parents divorced when he was a child, and his father was never there for him. He just assumed that thats what happens when parents divorce. One of them just goes away. So when Michael sees Toby, a divorced man, still trying to be there for his daughter it just reminds him that his father just never tried to be there for him. --- Hope rides alone ...
