He's entitled to have dating/relationship standards, just like everyone else is.
He's just stating what it would take for him to be interested in pursuing a relationship and it sounds a bit conservative. That's fair.

And other people have the right to refuse to date him if they don't feel his expectations are compatible with their own.

It's similar when a woman looking for a long term partner lists a specific set of criteria she's looking for, otherwise she's not interested. It's fine because if any of her criteria sounds unreasonable, other people still reserve the right to look elsewhere.

There's literally nothing oppressive about what he said as far as relationship conditions he's looking for. It's just a bit idealistic in the current decade. However, he's also not demanding anyone conform to what he wants.

Nobody is saying that Tim Pool only wanting to date you if you're willing to be his baby factory and sit at home all day till your ass fuses to the chair is oppressive.

It's just sad.

By that metric so is a western career woman's expectation of still wanting a man who's a "provider" when she's capable of earning just as much in today's economy. Gender roles be damned...

The funny thing about telling others to take the high road is how often it's hypocritical advice.
