There's some stuff out there but the vocals always kill it for me.

It's also usually unbearably poppy but here's an example of a recent "new wave" song.

New Wave itself in the 80s was pop, so of course it was/is "poppy". But that's fine because I like some New Wave songs that i've heard from the 80s so far.


Ah good. And yeah of course, I suppose I should have specified unbearably poppy for my taste. I think video games and radio introduced me to most of the new wave I'm aware of after the fact, as that era precedes my awareness or care for music. There's definitely more than a few new wave songs from the era I enjoy though.
