*Opening blurb that should have been posted week 1*

Welcome everyone to another edition of the b8 nfl pickem topic! If you're new and wondering the difference between this topic and the "other league" topic, well...there isn't one. Just board 8 tradition I think. This runs in addition to the other topic, we aren't linked in anyway but most people pick in both so feel free to head over to ashethan's topic as well!

Anyway, the object is to simply pick as many correct games as you can each week, no strings attached. Submit your picks to me here and I keep track of them on my handy dandy...spreadsheet! The top 8 at the end of the year in total correct picks compete in the playoff edition, with the best in that being declared the winner. Last year our winner was @Meow1000, who barely squeaked into the playoffs on a tiebreak, but outpicked his opponents to take it all. Special mention to @SwiftyDC who led the regular season with 172 wins!

OFFICIAL RULES:
Tl;dr: Make picks in here in a timely manner, don't edit your posts, and all is well.

-Post your picks in the topic here please. I will accept pm's or discord or the like to a point, but it is kind of a hassle to have to search for picks, and I'm not perfect and may forget. So please, for ease of everyone, post picks in here when at all possible. I reserve the right to disallow picks if I feel like someone is just too lazy to post them here repeatedly and is taking advantage of my leniency.

-If at all possible, post picks in the order that I list the games, as it makes entering the picks themselves into the sheet much easier. I realize that the other pick topic posts a different order, and often times people just copy/paste their picks here. I understand, and accept that if that is what you do, but just know that in order makes it easier. Like a lot.

-The deadline for each game is that game's kickoff. This means that you don't have to pick each game immediately, you can just pick the Thursday game, then the 1 pm games, then so on if that is what you want to do. You can always switch individual picks as long as that game's kickoff hasn't happened yet. If you do switch, and you made your picks within the hour of gametimes, DO NOT EDIT YOUR POST. Simply state that you are changing x pick to y team, the reason for this is that if someone were feeling nefarious, they could make picks right before the game, and if a team starts out really well, they might still have time to edit the pick to give themselves a better chance. The time limit on editing is 1 hr if I'm not mistaken, so if you made picks early on, then you can't edit anyway. This does not apply to you then. I will be forced to disallow picks if I see this happen, so if you wait to the last minute, please please please do not edit your post.

-If you forget to post picks in here and the games have kicked off, there is hope. If you have another source of picks from elsewhere that are timestamped or otherwise automatically locked (such as a website locking its picks in once games are underway), provide them here and I will accept them, but in keeping with rule 1, please don't make this a habit. There is an exception to this though: I WILL accept spread bets ONLY if the pick on the spread is such that you took the points, since that carries the expectation that the team will also win. For example, if you take a team -3.5, and are forced to provide this as an alternative pick, I will allow it, since betting they will win by 4 or more inherently means they will win. However, if you take a team +3.5, I cannot accept this since this inherently means you could have been betting on the team to still lose, just by 3 points or less. So if you're completely out of options and have to submit a full gamut of spread picks, you can submit it, but I'll automatically disallow any +picks.
