University spokeswoman, Robin Kaler said students in the hall at the Urbana campus reported finding the noose and it quickly blew up on social media and a woman who says she was with Smith when he tied the noose reported it to authorities Smith was arrested and charged with a felony hate crime and misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges He said he only spent about 30 seconds thinking about his actions and even after looking at it on social media didn't think it was serious enough to turn himself in His attorney, Audrey Thompson declined to ocmment on it and said her client is a sophomore with enough credits to graduate this year and a GPA of 3.79 He enrolled there in the fall of 2018 and majored in Math as the university said they don't condone acts of intolerance,bias or prejudice His bond was set at 5000 and is scheduled for another hearing in late October Did you thought this was a girl when you first saw the picture?
