The fact is that any deflection to "mob culture" in this context is a direct attack on victims who speak out against their abusers. The goal is to defend abusers and silence victims by violently shifting the blame. That is the entire point of this topic, a big part of GG, and it is what you are directly supporting when you say "well akkkshullyyy it kinda makes sense that he's mad at the accuser!!"

Would you say that Epstein's suicide means that pedophile sex ring call out culture is getting out of hand? If Bill Cosby killed himself would you say that we need to relax our stance against people who roofie and date rape? (These analogies should not even be necessary but here we are)

That's exactly what you are doing here. You're not being neutral, you're not being open minded, you're not being intellectual. So if you don't actually support those ideas, then shut up about the dangers of mob culture in this context. JC won't shut up about it, because he does believe all this stuff.

Last post I'll make about this since I really only wanted to respond to Dels. GG wants this kind of "argument" to continue way too badly.

I'm not going to make a topic saying that ZQ is to blame for this, but if someone does, I can understand why they feel that way. I wouldn't say I'm supporting the accusation, just the human being who made the topic. You may feel it's the same thing. Your point (and Icon's) is that I shouldn't give anti-ZQ sentiment even an inch. You could be right. But tbh, if all the replies had just been "Here's why you're wrong" instead of "fuck you piece of shit, trash topic" I wouldn't have felt the need to say anything at all.

I think most people are actually in agreement with me that we want to see nuanced and respectful discussion of this topic, they just felt the OP's post wasn't, and therefore deserved scorn. And their reaction was different than mine.

It does seem to me like this situation isn't the same as those other two situations. I see your point though.

I think my stance is that ZQ had every right to say what she said (and was likely telling the truth), that what Alec did is wrong, and that mob culture is bad. My point wasn't to make this about mob culture though, just to defend OP.

No need to reply further if you don't want to, but that's my stance as best I can explain it. I don't have anything else to say either.
