I can mostly agree with that I guess. I think my realist side just kinda defaults to doing one of the things I complain about, holding liberals to a higher standard than conservatives. Liberals are the ones easily swayed and turned off of candidates, to the detriment of the world as a whole, so when you have someone coming across as unreasonable like Cyclo, even if hes less nasty (though SEP is right about the cop stuff), it still comes across worse because liberals actually have standards and might take umbrage with what hes saying. The nonservatives can get away with advocating for bombing the Middle East and permanently imprisoning Hispanic children, because while liberals think its vile, no one on the right has any standards, and just accepts those beliefs.

tl;dr I perhaps hold Cyclo to an equal standard to demonstrably-worse people on the right because HIS actions might actually have a negative impact on his own side of the argument.
