The thing that's different with 6-5 as opposed to 1-2 and 3-2 is that those three cases are a single continuity with a single villain; neither of those has a massive purge of evidence. 6-5 has two wholly separate murders with two different, unrelated schemes, and midway through the trial, a good chunk of evidence and character profiles are discarded. Ergo, they're two separate cases.

I actually kind of liked the first part of 3-2 just because it wasn't a murder.

The wham moment at the end of the first trial day is a top tier moment for the series, too.

I concur with this.
