Topic	Epic Games refused to sell an indie game if it wasn't sold exclusively on EGS

They reached out to him with an offer with the caveat that it would be exclusive and he turned it down because he had already promised to release it on Steam. Epic Store didn't exist when he made the announcement on the game.
