If the film were remade, I think the following would be likely:
(keep in mind, not all of these things are bad)
- there would be a female character added in a prominent or semi-prominent role - Blondie would have a friend and ally who was black - said ally would replace Tuco in the role of helping Blondie swindle people on both sides of the Civil War (if that subplot was not dropped altogether) - the Confederate Army would be invariably villainous - Tuco would be played as a less stereotypical and more sympathetic character (or replaced with a white guy) - Blondie would be more murderous so that people get the point that the Good is an ironic title - the ending would see less suspense and more action -- likely with Angel Eyes having backup so that there would be a higher body count - the film would be cut by twenty minutes
That's so on point that I'm 100% certain a remake and all of that will happen.
Wonder how they'd redo the wounded and dying Confederate youth ?
One of the most humane scenes in the movie. ---
