Apparently they all tried to speak Spanish

i found that quite irritating, tbqh. obvious pandering and it isolated me as a non-Spanish speaker

Really? They directed part of their answer to me and they directed part of their answer to Spanish speakers, and that's fine. Not everything is about me.

I'm watching now, and I think there's some good moments throughout. From the economy, to heath care, to immigration (which is where I am now), these debates are actually allowing these candidates to create a lot of room from one another. They ask a candidate a question, let them answer, and then ask someone who has a different position to comment or give them a related follow up. What that means is that the moderators really made an effort to research all of these candidates and find the places where they differ from one another. For that they have my props.

Granted, I'm only an hour in. But so far, there's been only one messy moment with candidates trying to talk over one another.

what was the point other than blatant pandering to a specific group? i sincerely doubt very many, if any, folks watching the debate spoke only Spanish and if they did, they didn't even understand the question being responded to since it was asked in English.
