Just emailed my (former) boss if he would be willing to sign off on my work experience so I can apply to become a project management professional, I need his consent in case I am audited.

Feels weird being like "hey man I know you just fired me but can you help me out?"

He's a fair dude for what it's worth, I think he will go for it, otherwise I have officially wasted the last three years of my life

Oh, bro. If you were a working mechanical engineer with experience, why are you so worried? Is your area poor for engineering work?

In my experience engineering is not a golden ticket, I am still competing with a large pool of talented workers.

TC one of the important things is to think about why you got fired and how you can avoid it next time, as well as how you are going to explain this in interviews. Use some of your free time to think about this.

I feel like I already have a pretty good explanation. Regardless people get fired all the time so it's not like I'm a leper you know?
