Yeah, I honestly could care less about the super fast speeds 50mbps+ is insane over kill.

I'm more interested in the (after you use your minutes you have unlimited 4g) part of the 5g plans.

4g as mentioned above lets you stream shows just fine, is all you need for surfing the web or playing online games anywhere. THAT is massive for me, as it would let me travel anywhere and still play my games etc.

No clue why you would even need 5g to be honest, although it will allow for cloud playing games I guess (games are stored on a server somewhere and you play the full thing on a phone, or VR headset etc.)

Only works if they drastically up the data you get though, cause if your using anything close to 100mbps, you'll eat through your 20 gig in days forget about a month.

The unlimited connection at 5-15mbps though....that would be golden. You could watch unlimited netflix anywhere on your phone/ipad etc, you could play VR MMO's (mine is coming on the 19th) anywhere etc.

I get orbus VR (with my occulus quest) on the 19th. I can play it at home....but it doesn't need any system to be hooked up to it. That means I could easily travel with it and use a battery pack to run it, and play my VR mmo on the road (well, not when driving lol), in a park, while camping, whatever...anywhere, anytime.

Now that...is going to be magic. I am looking at trading in my car for a suv/van type thing I can sleep in and travel with. I already checked out generators as well, and battery packs.

There is a pretty good combo I have found, a battery pack that will run most things for about 4 hours per charge (and takes 1 hour to charge), and a generator that gets about 10 hours of charge from 1 gallon of gas. By using them together, I would be able to charge the battery pack 10 times with the generator, while also running something off the generator, so with a base charge that is 11x4 hours + 10 hours = 54 hours of charge per gallon of gas. If I actually get one of those portable 1 gallon gas containers as well, that doubles it to 108 hours of charge before needing to refill (only need the portable gas for times I may be out in the wilderness going river rafting etc..and honestly, if i'm out there, I doubt i'll be playing VR for 10+ hours a day lol.

So I got the basics kinda ready, but I need the internet speed on the go to be there. The things like Hughesnet etc are expensive, and not worth it....so 5g looks like the solution...and hopefully it'll be up and running by early 2020 (supposedly T-mobile is waiting to launch nationwide which is why it's doing so later then sprint/verizon etc).
