Throughout Pokemon's history, Game Freak has always done baby steps in regard to improving the games from one generation to the next. I haven't seen a single generation that was a enormous leap over the previous generation. The graphics may look better here, but that's only because the 3DS was limited to a 240p resolution. There's still no sign of any voice acting yet, a feature that many RPGs have implemented more than 10 years ago.
