Customer: I'd be asleep by 1am every night. Me: Nah, you'd be fine. It just takes a few days to get your schedule changed over, but after that it's just like working any other shift. Customer: What do you mean? Me: Well, 1am for me is only 3 hours into my shift. You don't usually have much trouble with falling asleep 3 hours into your day shift, right? Customer: Well no, but that's because I sleep. Me: ....so do I? Customer: When? Me: During the day. Customer: That's stupid. Me: Ok...you have a good night.
Honestly, why is this such a difficult concept for people? I mean, it honestly sounded like this guy actually believed I didn't sleep. Ever. And this isn't a rare assumption, based on my conversations with customers. It just seems so fucked up to me that people think that's a logical conclusion to seeing me awake at night. Not "oh, he must just sleep at a different time than me" but instead "he must just not sleep." WTF?
Flashbacks to my old job customers & all some people just lack common sense I swear ---
