Have a tutorial sprite interrupt the gameplay and force them to press the item button as an ingame tutorial Fuck no that's the fastest way to get me to turn off a game I hate it too, tbh. Especially when all the controls are locked and there's a giant finger wagging at the button I need to press to go on.
