Topic	Is it really that big of a deal to eat at a restaurant by yourself?

I rarely eat alone but its a fun city and lots of good restaurants so I will have to get out of my comfort zone and just do it. I tried going to a sushi place during lunch break a few months back. I sat alone at the bar and of course the waiter asked me why I was all alone. Made it feel more awkward than it did already lol. It's kind of a compliment. People usually don't ask if they think it's a depressing reason lol. I sure as hell don't. But if I think it's just an off moment for someone who looks obviously capable of being social I might throw a playful jab. I had a feeling thats what he was doing but I still found it annoying.
