I don't know about this case. I'm currently trying to piece things together but I'm expecting a lot of twists so my deductions will probably be incredibly inaccurate but I can give it a go. Monokuma File #5 says the time of death to be noon sharp. The bombs were supposed to go off at noon so everyone already together by then. I don't think an exact cause of death has been identified going off of the Monokuma File though I could be wrong. It would be natural to assume Nagito died of being stabbed in the stomach with a spear but I'm not sure if that's what got him.

When his cottage was searched, a half empty/half full bottle of poison was found in his refrigerator. The liquid is very dangerous when vaporized and takes effect immediately. My guess is the killer used this to kill Nagito while wearing the gas mask and gloves found under his bed so they wouldn't breathe the fumes in or get their clothes dirty from the torture. This poison is also susceptible to hydrolysis. Thankfully, I took a course in cell biology and physiology last semester so I learned hydrolysis meant the breakdown of something when it reacts with water.

With that knowledge, I want to backtrack a bit. The gang had to break down the factory door leading to all the Monokuma merchandise. I'm thinking this was sort of a trap set by the killer since all the Monokuma dolls were lined up. Once the door fully opened, it created a domino effect successfully starting the fire and causing the sprinkler system to activate which would dissipate the poison. The curtain blocked the fire from getting to Nagito's body which is why his clothes were not burned.

Since we're somewhat on the topic of Nagito's body, I only want to point out that his palms and the back of his hand were not covered in blood. Also, a part of the wire connected to the spear did not have blood on it. I think Nagito held that part with his hand. Maybe the killer suspended the spear above Nagito's body which may explained the straight line of blood. If Nagito was focused on trying to breathe through the tape(which is why it was in his mouth) in order to avoid the poisonous fumes, he would lose strength and his grip would loosen. The spear came down on him and he let the cord go, it would naturally shoot up then back down maybe creating that line of blood.

As for the Monokuma doll, I have no idea. I think the MP3 player was used to drown out the noise of the torture and the set up of the scene. I don't know who the killer is or at least, I don't want to know who the killer is. I think I have a good idea as to who the traitor is if that's what you want to call it. All the characters thought her actions made her not the traitor but I think it's the complete opposite. If the traitor is who I think it is, that person is probably the killer. That traitor may have been the same person writing in Monomi's notebook but I'm not sure. This is all just speculation. I could be way off base but this is what I have concluded from my observations. I'll try to do the trial tonight and beat the game tomorrow. Then, I'll see about watching whatever I need to watch before starting V3.

Lastly, I totally called it in the beginning when I said that wasn't Byakuya. Good to know the real Byakuya is still alive and well.
