You're still immature at 16, both by the letter of the law in most respects and usually in personality as well - the only people pursuing 16 year olds in any capacity should be around 16 years old themselves. "Don't call them children" - they're still going to school, they're not old enough to drink or sign legal contracts without an adult present, and I'm pretty sure there are laws preventing 16 year olds from fucking fully fledged older adults?

Shit, most people are completely different people at 19 than when they were 16. I don't know why you're being so persistent in insisting that being sexually interested in 16 year olds is respecting their oncoming maturity. It's fucking creepy, and I think it's still considered ephebophilia depending on your age and intentions.
