I prefer it when it's done well and earned, but even then I think it works better when it's character ambiguity rather than plot ambiguity. If you're going to build up a massive story arc and then end it with a shrug, it kind of implies to me that you're just a shitty writer/director. Ironically, Final Fantasy VII itself had a similar issue, with the only hint that you actually saved the planet rather than theoretically destroying it comes from the after-credits cut-scene, and even that doesn't really explain much other than that the planet itself still exists and Red XIII survived somehow. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ...
