Supposedly growing vs showing is an evolutionary trait. People with ancestry from colder climates tend to be growers and hotter climates tend to be showers. Which is, generally speaking, why white dudes are usually growers and black dudes are usually showers.

Don't know how much of that is actually true, but I suppose the logic makes sense.
