I wish people would get back to attacking the argument instead of the person or using dumb catchphrases. Then again, this probably isn't the right place for that.

Nah I feel the same way. Go look at the topic about the dude in the vape shop. The entire topic is:

"Comment"

"That's ironic, coming from you"

"Oh yeah, well you did this"

And it just kinda goes back and forth. Eventually the originally discussion is gone and the usual users are linking to other topics to bring down the other user and they're not even debating about anything anymore and are just name calling and bringing up year old shit to gain credibility and diminish the others without actually making any salient points. But that's the state of debate these days. It's why I'm just a lurker now and I'll get involved in some silly topics to shoot the shit but I can only be a serious poster here in very small doses because everyone wants to take it to a serious personal level and act like a child in doing so
