Genuine question: Why do you play mafia in this way? What enjoyment do you get from (in theory) being a part of a town that is doing quite well but not helping the rest of town problem solve the game?

Well, let's say Shad is confirmed to be town. I have been advocating, a bit slow paced due to my schedule, to solve the counterwagn on the scum day 1 so we can check that off the list and explore busses and off wagon votes independently from there. You and sheep would be the two last remaining people from that lynch to be not dead or confirmed to be town. So by claiming you let the rest of town resolve the train one way or another and we can move onto the next phase of the game.
No it doesn't. Because as town regardless of my role I would claim vanilla, and as scum I would claim vanilla, in either scenario I am still a very viable lynch candidate. I'd rather ride it out and hope to not get lynched.
Why would you hide power as town though in this game state? We already have two flipped scum and plenty of back information to go on (and believe you me, that will come) so you being lynched as anything is sub optimal. The trade off of you potentially being killed at night (not blocked, blocker is dead) is actually great. If you die red doesn't die. i don't die. Scare doesn't die. It'd be a good trade off for power vs narrowing focus.
I am trying to be less rude to people, as I know I come off as too blunt at times. I just want to put in front of you IF shad is town, and IF you are power, we probably murk sheep and regardless of his alignment end of day 3 the ed counterwagon is completely solved, which is pretty awesome.
