Outside of them deserving or not deserving more, I think they should get paid more to make it a more attractive position for brighter people, considering theyre the ones spending all day with our children and educating them. Why would someone that's bright enough to be a doctor or engineer consider becoming a teacher when it pays so much less? This is a fair point. You don't need extremely intelligent people teaching kids. They are literally trying to teach children the stuff they know. They just need to not be assholes. In a way this is also true.
