So for the Jags to sign everyone they want, they will be in negative cap territory. They have excess at G, DT, and DE. The Vikings have need at two of those positions, so they were an excellent fit.

Love and Lewis are making like $8 mil to be backups. Kelly is likely in his final season, and while Love projects to have potential long-term value, the Jags have the much younger Clint Boling who can handle backup G duties. Robertson has been a mainstay, but he's been declining in rating for a couple seasons now, and the Jags have a DT six years younger and just four points lower.

Best is the prize return coming to the Jags. He is 25 and still under control for two seasons via the RFA tender. Jags cannot have Orlovsky as the backup to Tebow and the 27-year-old Stafford on the last year of his contract can be given a trial run to see if he is the long-term backup there. Walker is on the low RFA tender and offers the Jags a super cheap swing tackle for their phenomenal starting duo.

The veteran Vikings part ways with a few of their youth, including potential long-term starter in Best, but that is the price to pay for older, starter-worthy talent for a team built to win now.

The Jags have $14.99 mil going out and $7.74 mil coming in. This coupled with UFA contracts would leave the Jags with just a single roster hole and acceptable cap space, giving them no pressure entering the draft and plenty of flexibility within it. They are aware of the cap penalty associated with this, which should be mitigated with future cap increase, expiring contracts, and expected retirements.
