This is less a problem with the jobs themselves and more of a problem with parents bragging about their children to feel superior to their peers. They tie their own arrogance to the success of their child with what society has determined "good jobs".

Another societal hang-up that you seem determined to perpetuate.

Should a parent be ashamed of their child becoming an artist? A performer? A teacher?
