I had them checked when the teeth started to come out, and the dentist told me they were couldn't grow properly because of the positioning, so I had 2 removed quickly with local anaesthetic. Felt nothing during the removal, but they had to cut open the gum so it ached liked hell for a week and it's impossible to eat anything hard.

Few years on I removed another one, this time it was just pulled out, most of the pain went away in a day or two.
