Topic | Why is Sprite so heavily marketed towards black people? |
BB mofo 11/11/18 11:44:46 PM #38: | Back in the 40s and 50s, Pepsi heavily advertised to the black community. Ozzie Davis got his start as a child actor by being a part of a Pepsi print ad. Duke Ellington was a spokesman for Pepsi. Coke use to denigrate Pepsi by spreading the nickname "N-word Cola" outside of their ads and only focused on advertising to whites. Pepsi would use this in their advertisements to push blacks further away from Coke. https://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2013/01/brief-history-racist-soft-drinks/318929/ --- "But who prays for Satan?
